Could there be a better - or more frightening! - website than that of the world clock's? Just a few minutes watching the world birth "meter" is enough to make me panic!
This is an excellent site for international statistical information, which updates every second!
American birth control pioneer, Margaret Sanger, would be very proud to know that her brain child is alive and well, especially given the drubbing it has taken through some pretty safe sex "unfriendly" presidencies. Although Sanger was not a great fan of the condom - too much power in the hands of men, leaving women out of the safe sex picture! - without her, who knows how long it would have taken the US to finally move away from those terrible Comstock years!
For information on what they are doing now, funding issues, and much more, the PP site is a very good one (except: their history of the condom is not always very accurate!)

Marie Stopes International website
Marie Stopes was the English equivalent of Margaret Sanger; she was a controversial figure who spent much of her life fighting for women's reproductive rights. Marching arm-in-arm with other activists of her time - she was very close friends with George Bernard Shaw, to name one - she was largely responsible for pushing for better access and information about birth control during the 1920s, a time when there was a conservative pall over the country. This organization, which is now international, works to provide education and services about sexual health around the world.
